Art ~ Power of Personal Expression

 Sample                                                             The Lorax  (Title)
                                                                      By Jennifer D. (byline)

Art - Paint ~ Express ~ Explore what is within us;

All students are creating a masterpiece to reflect their personal selves.  The medium is water colors and acrylics.  Working from our imaginations we create paintings that express a thought, vision, desire, a part of our reality.

Paintings will be displayed in the halls and we will write a paragraph to express our paintings.  A paragraph includes 5 to 7 lines.  Our writing piece will begin with an Epigraph that further demonstrates our thoughts.   Your Title and Byline - Name your Painting -  Relative image to quote - Per Mr. Moreno - and Fifth Grade Style.

The Lorax
by Jennifer D.

"one thought, might be a Dr. Seuss quote..."  - Dr. Seuss

A paragraph around why you painted - what prompted the painting?  Why and What specifically did you like about it?  Why did you choose this?  What does it represent?  What would you like for the viewer to know....   What is BEHIND it?

This is my baby monkey in his top bunkie. All ready
for bed about to rest his little head. In his little hat he watches the cat down below. Dreaming about delicious jello. Gleaming into the night sky. Goodnight world as I twirl off into the night.

  6. The Magical Meadow By:Jillian K.

"I have accepted fear as a part of life-specifically the fear of change." "I have gone ahead despite the pounding in the heart that says turn back..."

There is a meadow off the side of the side of the road that states me and where i like to go. It is in Flagstaff where I like to camp and go off-roading with me and my friends. I like to visit the deer and antelope that live down at the meadow that I like to call the magical meadow. The meadow is big but not too big, I enjoy going down down having fun running in the sun. There are dandelions that I like to blow, but when I blow the deer go hopping and running I just stay calm and wait as they run. When I have to leave the deer cry in relief because I am afraid they are scared of me.

  7. Wild Spirits Ride On
    By:Bryndal
"A horse never runs so fast as when he has other horses to catch up and outpace"

The wild horses run as the wind blows by. The horses gallop by the cherry blossom trees. As one horse gets left behind. He rears in the wind and calls for his herd. The heard is no where in sight.

  13. The Lorax
    By: Jenna D.
"unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot nothing is going to get better its not."

what you see isn't what you get. This painting represents happiness. This represents my dog leaping through the fluffy bushes. At dawn she chases the rabbits and gets lost because shes blind, but she always comes back. The lorax represents human kindness, the mountains represent Arizona, the purple represents the sunset, and the trees represent happiness.

  17. THE WATERFALL MOUNTAIN By: Natalie G. "Are greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall".-Confucius Scott.
I wanted to paint this picture because I'm going to Colorado in November. What I like specifically is, its small = not much detail, and I'm proud of it. This MASTERPIECE represents every single waterfall mountain in the world.
I choose this quote cause it reminded me of seeing the first mountain when I was five. This painting took me FIVE whole days.

  18. My Art Painting
    By Delani D.

"Every day is a good day to be alive, whether the sun is shining or not." - Marty Robbins

My art painting represents one of my favorite places on earth. It is the view from my Grandpa's house in Canada. We have visited every summer since I was born and I have many special memories of this place. One of the coolest places at his house is the backyard. The view from the backyard looks out over the ocean. My painting reminds me of that view. It is very peaceful there and is a place that my family gathers to spend time with each other. I will always remember this place.

  22. The Blob
    By: Briann Gagnon

Be content with what you have, for God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So say with confidence, “ The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.” ~ Hebrews 13:5-6

My painting looks like a messy blob, but I see clouds. The clouds remind me of when Jesus went to heaven. When I look at the clouds it reminds me that Jesus is always with me. One day Jesus is going to come back to earth and take all His followers (Christians) to heaven. This is my painting.

  23. Rose by Kassia S. "She was one of the rare ones, so effortlessly herself, and the world loved her" - A t t I cus

A rose is a part of you. It represents your inner is more than your outer beauty. It doesn't matter what other people think. You are stronger than what you look like. The rose is in the dark. The glass is not letting it be noticed. Then you see it, because of it's bright color. Because it is more beautiful than you think.
