Ted Ed - Did You Know Responses -

Review three of your classmates Ted Ed's - Did you Know?
Name the three you reviewed, who created it and what you learned.

List something that you learned for each -
List something that you already knew -

Which question did you find most relevant and interesting
to the video and why?

Something you liked most around the presentation and then offer a constructive
criticism - in a kind fashion to help the creator learn.

This is due no later than Friday, Feb.3rd - you may post earlier -

Vignette

What Is a "Vignette"?

vignette, which translates (in French) to "little vine," is a brief, impressionistic scene that focuses on one moment or character and gives a salient (sensory-based) impression about that character, an idea, setting, and/or object. It's a short, descriptive passage (or passages) that are more about evoking meaning through imagery than it is about "plot."
Your focal point should be relatively clear. We write about personal, memory-based images that come to mind as we meditate on certain topics and elaborate on them.
Vignettes are not essays, or mini-essays. They are not rhetorical in nature, although the hope is that the story itself will provoke interesting and related memories for the reader.  Who is your reader?
This means that an author need not declare to the reader what is important or meaningful about the narrative being shared. The brief piece should stand alone.  No explanations.
Well, so how long Ms. Lane??  Three paragraph minimum. Fifth-grade style.  Show us with your words, describe - in a new way.

What does provoke mean? stimulate (a person, animal, etc.) to action - to give rise to, induce

Ted Ed Post - Did you Know?

Students will make an informational Ted Ed that will offer new and interesting information to the classroom - students have created Ted Ed presentations in the past - that will include a short video piece and questions with plausible answers -

Ted Ed links to be posted here no later than Friday, January 26th.   Presentations will be started on that same day - total presentation approx 5 to 8 minutes - to include Ted Ed video.

In the interim, (meanwhile...) please feel free to ask Ms. Lane any questions.  This assignment was discussed and presented prior to the Holiday Break.  I look forward to seeing your discoveries -

Thank you!
