Informative Essays - Ready, Set, Capture


Write an Informative Essay to present to our class.

Your essay will include an introduction, information and facts, supporting details - a conclusion.


Approximately five paragraphs, use at least two different sources and then cite them at the end of your paper for reference.  

Complete Fifth-Grade Style - to include Fun and Interesting Title and Byline

Rough Drafts are due, March 7th - bring to class for peer editing and review - 
Final Pieces to be Posted on our blog here on Thursday, March 9th - bring your final piece to class - 

Please bring your Writing Portfolios to Class that day as your final hard copy will be due in the Writing Portfolio on that same day.  We will share our stories on Thursday, Friday in class - please practice at home and be prepared to share either day.  


List your resources as stated in our Bibliography - 

Two minimum - 

Epigraphs are Welcome -

Community Connection with Pinnacle High School



Our first letter will be an introduction letter - this is to be handwritten, 5th grade style.  In this letter, we will introduce ourselves with first name, last initial - it will be written letter style -

My daughter, Katie Fizz, will be selecting 23 students to work with - new community pen-pals - students from Pinnacle High School will answer questions about high school, give tips and write to their fifth grade selves.  

First writing assignment is a friendly letter - introducing yourselves and then folding in half with 3 major interests about yourself with bullets/on outside to get matched -
